I woke to find that overnight snow had made everything apart from the swirling Tay white. A glorious scene but one which put an end to any thoughts of getting out. To my amazement the post man came and left two pieces of junk mail!
It has snowed all day and is still snowing as I write at 15.30. I have not ventured out. In fact I have made it a 'dies non' to use a monastic phrase....a day when one if free from all ritual without being free from prayer. So the routine goes and one is thrown upon oneself. All I have done is watch a fascinating film about racial tensions and the inter connectedness of people in a City in America. It is fictitious but based on real situations. It makes one think.
Yes, I have looked at a few pages of my 'spiritual reading' but mainly I have been in bed, under my duvet, keeping warm and engrossed in a Michael Connelly novel. I am hoping the goodies will beat the baddies! It is a form of escape and self comforting but even in such novels one is faced with the human condition and can learn serious lessons as to life.
I have had little surges of selfishness...for example ' will I be able to get to my jab session on Saturday?' Surely I should be thinking more 'I pray that people scheduled for jabs today can get there?' Oh, the monkey of the mind!
