Tuesday 6th April, 2021

Woke to the perennial blustery cold wind and a sky undecided as to what to do...shine, rain or snow. There was a tiny moment of sleet but otherwise just wind. When out of the wind it was warm and glorious as I discovered on my walk. I am just back from it. I met an old friend, well a person I meet regularly. She had her son's dog as the children are, alleluia, back at school, the house feels empty, the parents are working so Grand Mama helps by walking the dog. We passed a little time and she lamented Ethiopia and its hell. She and her husband had been there regularly and loved the people and the land, now war torn and with massacres galore. She also mentioned that she had read this morning that one in five children in Dundee leave school without any qualification at all. On I went with my litter grabber and my gratitude that my parents ensured I went to a wonderful school and had a broad and a spiritual education. What a privilege that is...

Earlier I had driven to the library to return a book and then on to a collation with my artist friend. Smoked salmon and chocolate mousse accompanied chat. She is painting two canvasses for me and she showed me one....glorious.

Otherwise a quiet day. A couple of letters including one from a friend getting a new pace maker today and who laments total loss of energy. The other from a friend who sent five gold chocolate coins in the letter! Eaten immediately and enjoyed.

Now I am back from my walk, full of fresh air and about to have a short siesta.

All feels good after a long sleep and a brisk walk. If only all were as privileged as me.
