Wednesday 14th April, 2021

Another glorious day. Glorious days provide their own problems: the garden is gasping for water and all the outside greens and beaches and benches and games fields are covered with people, groups of people. Many no doubt are breaking the Covid regulations but who am I to criticise especially as I feel people need space and friends and fresh air.

I walked to Mass at 10am. Marvellous and was asked to do the reading. Then in to the village to post a letter and to pop in to a jumble sale. There I bought a present for my landlady whose birthday is tomorrow.

At midday I was off to the allotment which was a cover for taking to the Landlady's daughter to plan tomorrow. Then off to buy lots of messe from a local shop which sells Arab and Indian foods. What a treasure house it was and I came back with sufficient goodies to prepare a luncheon feast tomorrow. Daughter will take Mother out and bring her back for 13.30 and I will have laid out the feast and have a few pieces to heat. I hope it works.

Then to Tesco to buy some breakfast croissants and a few presents as well as a chicken in the bag for supper. Also some petrol. I walked the Tay side path and it was indeed crowded. It was also hot and lovely. I hope the sun's vitamin D will build up our immune systems!

Finally to a local rendezvous to hand over all the Marie Curie clobber I have as I am moving south and will no longer be able to help up here. I had a lovely chat with the Chair of the local group and will miss her and them and the work a great deal. I also bumped in to an acquaintance whom I used to see much at the Charity shop where I worked. He has had major surgery on his liver and has had urinary tract infections and various viruses but he was a cheerful as ever. He really is a lovely man so I will miss the clientele of the shop also. Yet I long to move. First I need my second jab.

So a busy day and tomorrow will be busier! Personally I am not a great one for celebrating birthdays ( I feel like Job in his somber mood) but the landlady and her family make it a carnival. So I try to join in!

Now for a spectacular sunset....and maybe sitting in the sun with a book.
