Another glorious sunny spring day. I decided to have muesli and toast for breakfast and then to do a little clearing of my rooms. I shredded much paper work, letters, put various soaps and toothpastes in a bag and finished two letters I had written. Then I went out in to the garden to water one set of rhubarb and to re plant another from a pot. I saw and mentioned to my neighbour a need for rain and he was horrified, claiming it will come and it will come and it will come again and again....I go the message to enjoy the sunshine.
My landlady's daughter came to take her to have her second jab and I went for a two hour walk over the hills and down to Tayport. As ever it had breathtaking views and I stopped to listen to the silence and nature while taking in the vistas. I took a new route and met a woman who was being walked by her dog. " He is a puppy and so strong and wilful " she shouted as she was dragged off down a foot path!
I caught a bus back and was delighted that I only filled one bag of litter overall, which included the sandwich container from the lunch I bought at the local shop. I suddenly felt hungry so indulged. I was tempted by the reduced Cadbury's dairy bar but resisted and felt proud.
On my return I had a letter from my solicitor organising the payment for the retirement flat I am purchasing. It was an official request so that I could get my bank to transfer the monies without too many accusations of money laundering etc. I popped in to Dundee to organise a transfer from a building society to the bank. I was asked the usual questions: was I under duress? What was the money going to be used for? So I asked: why all the questions? Is it my money or not? Am I allowed to use it as I please? I am getting a complex about a surveillance society! Yet it is the political establishment that is being accused of sleaze at present. What a world! I love it.
Now I shall take a siesta having listened to my landlady telling me that her nurse at the vaccine centre had said all sorts about the jab and how it was not as effective as.....and yet more negatives. I switched off. I go on Sunday for my second jab and am deeply grateful especially when I read of the hell in India.
