Another wonderfully instructive and frustrating day. No rain was the first bonus. Sunshine in the afternoon another. Three herons flying past the house and a few cormorants doing diving acrobats in the Tay, yet another.

I was on my way to an Auction, supposedly, to look for book shelves. I diverted and went to see my Indian friend, the one I call the guru, and his wife. Rules forbid meeting indoors so we met in a cafe. £7.40 for three coffees!

Wonderful chat mainly about coming face to face with God. Also a long discussion as to why Christians are frightened of death, even Covid. Surely their faith  and the faith of all religious believers should have a positive attitude to the next world. Also fear of Covid goes against the mantra of Christ: " Do not be afraid, I am with you". This does not mean no suffering and no pain and no challenges but a certainty of another world. Also many are dying of diseases other than Covid, although Covid must be taken seriously but so should death from starvation, civil war and abuse.

It was a marvellous couple of hours. I came away refreshed and stimulated.

Then back home to await another engineer from Openreach. We were promised a visit between midday until possibly 6pm. Jack arrived at 12.30 and left at 16.47. Yes, all was well until he had texted to say so. Then the wifi went off again for half an hour. He has just phoned to say a posse of engineers will be coming tomorrow. I am off to hospital for a post operation consultancy! I hope the doctor can deal with me more effectively than Jack and the five others over the last six days or so.

I bought some cream and Dutch cheese from Aldi on my way back from meeting the guru. I have grown a small pumpkin. I shall bake it until soft. I shall then halve it and scoop out the seeds. I will then pour cream in to the resulting space and put cheese over it. Then back in to the oven for a moment to melt the cheese. This is a recipe from my wifi advisor! I hope it is successful.

Now a hot bath...if I had a cold compress I would use it. Of course, Life, the BBC programme is on tonight. I feel I am in the midst of the muddle of life.
