Reflection on Silence

I do realise that we are 'all in this together'. #allinthistogether

I wonder what this feeling is that we are experiencing.

Does it range and encompass anticipatory grief to guilt to annoyance and the big question is - what could we have done to prevent this?

The next big question is:

What will we learn from this?

I recall many years ago, stopping on the Kings Highway in Jordan. I climbed over a small sand dune to be encompassed by the desert. #jordan #desert #quiet

The silence struck me so very deeply, my heart missed several beats as I listened to that silence - it roared at me. It reduced me to a small and insignificant being. I was frightened, but why and from what? #silence #justbeing

And is this stillness and silence we are experiencing now - is it from the same tree?

Is it a fear of the unknown and the uncertainty of the future for mankind and the planet, is it selfish to want everything back to the norm - so we can continue our reckless and feckless lives?

In this time, where do we turn but to God and perhaps there again we carry guilt because when things were 'normal', we actually took it for granted. Did we ever give thanks?

We only ever seem to appeal to God when we want something. Do we ever think to stay, thanks for that great day when I hopped onto a plane and then drove my car really fast down the auto aha and didn't get stopped by the police. I then had a fabulous dinner with plenty of fine wine and in the company of my good friends. No, I took this for granted because I believe this is what I deserve. I worked hard for my success, and its my success! Is this it? I fear that it might be a very small part of it all.
