There is much that needs comment. It is vital that we, as individuals, do not let up on being aware of injustices, curbs on freedom, the wrongs of public and private figures, fraud, abuse and all the negatives which sadly seem to be part of human society. For evil to flourish, we all know, it is for good men to do nothing. We cannot be complacent, tardy, lazy, indolent, indifferent or let our guard down. Today I have read six petitions sent to me via email. All of them are concerned with horrors from abuse of nature to the imprisonment of a human for trumpeting the abuse of human rights. I sign them. I sigh and I pray. At times I feel overwhelmed by them and need to recharge my positive batteries. Part of the recharge is attending Church and believing in a Creator and God who loves us. Another part of the recharge is to walk and look and notice the beauty around me from the setting sun to the scurrying clouds to the swaying trees to the distant hills and the silvery Tay. Another part is to write to friends, to think on the many glorious people I have met and who wander the face of the earth doing good, being good, caring for all around them.

Today two things beyond my walk and attending a service have uplifted me.

First was the three letters I have written. They are to friends. One is about to undergo a major operation. Another is to a friend awaiting an horrendous spinal operation. The third was to a poet I know. All three letters encouraged a huge surge of love and joy within me.

Second was the watching of The Blue Planet on BBC1. I had not seen the programme for ages. It was a look in to some of the most amazing, startling, incredible, stunning, beautiful, mysterious parts of the Ocean floors. All I can do is marvel. I was over awed, over awed in to silence and wonder. A surge of joy and exuberance. How utterly humbled I felt. I felt like simply bursting in to an Alleluia chorus but that is not as powerful as simply being silent.
